Minority Representation in the STEM Field

A college in New York saw an opportunity to meet the needs of minority students who demonstrate an interest in the sciences. With funding from the US Department of Education, the college has implemented key changes to their science program. They were able to implement recitation hours, add a STEM career adviser, and purchase specialized equipment, in hopes of increasing preparedness, interest, and confidence of minority students in STEM fields.

To support their efforts, our team is gathering insights from multiple perspectives. Using data from interviews, surveys, and analysis of institutional data, our client will be able to understand the influence of this program on its students. As this project progresses, our team is providing the college with regular summaries of findings to support course corrections and/or the identification of best practices. In our final report, we will communicate the insights gained across the three years of this project.
