Hezel Associates Evaluates Rare Book School Fellowship Program

Rare Book School (RBS) (www.rarebookschool.org), a non-profit educational institute engaged Hezel Associates as the external evaluator to conduct an assessment of the Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program grant-funded Fellowships for Early-Career Librarians. This project was supported by Grant Award No. RE-06-14-0011, awarded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) (www.imls.gov) of the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities, to the University of Virginia.

Hezel Associates is conducting a mixed methods evaluation in order to answer the research questions regarding implementation and impact. Hezel Associates researchers will gather data using reviews of program documentation; interviews with RBS fellows; and questionnaires for RBS fellows. Data will be triangulated using qualitative and quantitative analysis. The RBS managers will benefit from on-site annual consultations and a formative and summative evaluation, supplied through two interim reports and one final report.
