Fran Hurley Joins Research Team

 

Hezel Associates is pleased to announce the addition of Francis Hurley, Ed.D. to the full-time staff. In her new position as Senior Research Associate, Dr. Hurley will be responsible for evaluation and strategic services projects, as well as dissemination and proposal writing.

Dr. Hurley’s professional career spans three decades and has focused on supporting teachers and school administrators to align reading instruction, curriculum and assessment, both throughout the United States and in developing nations, as well.  Her work has taken her into a diverse array of school settings, most recently in urban elementary schools where she collaborated with teachers and principals to solidify early language instruction.
 
Prior to joining, Dr. Hurley previously provided educational consulting for Hezel Associates on a part-time basis.  She was the principal investigator for a four-year qualitative research study on the literacy of kindergarten students and a yearlong research initiate on school reform and teachers’ perspectives.

Dr. Hurley obtained her doctorate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.  She currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

In addition to Hurley’s Boston presence, Hezel Associates has locations in Burlington, VT and Springfield, MA.
