The findings from Hezel Associates’ evaluation activities in New York and Ohio indicate that administrators and teachers face similar challenges but have different needs associated with using state assessment data. By anticipating users’ challenges and attending to their needs, DDDM initiatives can be well-positioned to significantly impact the way educators think about and use state assessment data to inform their professional practice. In particular, inspired leadership and teacher buy-in play key roles in ensuring DDDM’s success.
