Dear Health Education Colleague:

We are contacting you today on behalf of the Coalition of National Health Education Organization's (CNHEO's) Task Force for Marketing the Profession. The Task Force has been working for the past two years on creating a plan to promote the health education profession in the 21st Century.

With today's increasing pressures and challenges related to disease prevention and health promotion and the future employment of health educators in all settings, it is vital that we begin better marketing the "value added" knowledge and skills of health educators. While health educators can play key roles in improving the health of all people, ironically we are being left out, not heard, and at times seen as not relevant.

To this end, we have commissioned market research by Hezel Associates** to learn about employer's knowledge of, attitudes toward, and hiring practices (and use) of health educators within their organization. The results will be used to help develop core messages for an effective marketing plan/campaign and will be shared across the health education profession.

To begin this important project,
we need YOUR help.
Please submit the name of your supervisor or at least one person in a position to hire a health educator in your organization so that we may invite them to complete a brief survey. Note that your name will not be identified as the point of reference, and the responses of all employers to the survey will be completely anonymous. The employer will not be contacted for any further information beyond the survey without further consent.

Also, if you are aware of other organizations that do not employ a health educator, but have other person(s) carrying out a health educator's functions, please submit the name(s) of those organizations and a contact person (if known), as well. The individuals you submit will be contacted only for the purposes of the employer survey.

Please submit as many names as you like. To submit more than one, submit a name below and you will then be prompted to return to this page after completing the submission.

If you have any further questions about this project, please contact the Task Force Chair, Stephen Gambescia at
sfg23@drexel.edu. Thank you very much for your consideration and your help in this important health education initiative.

Sincerely,

CNHEO Marketing the Profession Task Force
